New Patient FAQ

01 > How do i make an appointment?

You can call one of our clinic locations or book online. (Online booking is available for Baulkham Hills, Macquarie Park, Epping, Darling Square, Chatswood and West Ryde clinics)

  • Initial Appointment (up to 45mins) – For all New Patients and Existing Patients with a New Area or it has been more than 3 months since your last visit
  • Standard Appointment (up to 30mins) – Select this option if you have been to Myphysio before and have had your injury assessed in the past 3 – 6 months.

Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to fill in a New Patient form.

If you are covered by NDIS, Workcover or CTP, please contact our staff to arrange the appointment. We will require more details from you before your first visit.

02 > What to bring to my first appointment?

Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to fill in a New Patient form.

  • Please bring with you any X-ray, scan reports, doctor referrals, medical reports for your first session.
  • Wear comfortable clothes or loose fitting clothes
  • If you are claiming a rebate from Private Health Fund, please bring your health fund card.
  • If you are claiming from Medicare (CDM) or DVA, please bring your Medicare/DVA card and doctor’s referral.
  • If you are claiming from Workcover or CTP, please bring your approved insurance claiming details.
  • If you are claiming from NDIS, please ensure your appointment has been approved by your support coordinator.
03 > What should I expect?
  • Initial consultation – A thorough one-on-one assessment and reproducible examination will be conducted prior to treatment to ensure a detailed understanding of your problem is obtained and progression can be monitored down the track. A personalised treatment plan will be established based on the results of your assessment for effective recovery.
  • Follow up consultation – You will be closely monitored throughout the treatments by our team of physiotherapists to help you with current issue and avoid flare-ups.
  • Rehabilitation and Sports injury – If you are willing to return to sports field, we are dedicated to provide sports-specific rehabilitation to help you and guide you from the start to beyond.
04 > Do I need a referral to see a Physiotherapist / Chiropractor?
  • NO – For private patients, a doctor’s referral is certainly welcome but not necessary. You do not need a referral to claim for private health insurance.
  • Yes – You will need a doctor’s referral for WorkCover, Motor vehicle accident injury (CTP), Medicare (CDM) or Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) claims.
05 > Will I get a reminder for my appointment?

For Baulkham Hills / West Ryde / Macquarie Park patients:

  • Yes. We will ask you for your mobile and email address at your initial appointment
  • You will receive an automated 2-day text reminder with a link to confirm or reject your scheduled appointment. Please call our clinic to reschedule your appointment if you cannot make it. If we don’t hear from you, our friendly staff will contact you to assist with rescheduling.
  • If you do not respond to our 2-day text reminder, we will be contacting you a day before via text or phone to confirm your appointment.

For all other clinics (where Myphysio is inside a medical centre):

  • Yes. We will ask you for your mobile and email address at your initial appointment
  • You will receive your reminder via phone or text a day before your appointment. Please call our clinic to reschedule your appointment if you cannot make it.

Myphysio has a 24 hour Cancellation Policy. We value you as a client and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
