Telehealth: Your Online Physiotherapist

Technology innovation have improved methods of communication. The rise of smart phones and faster and secure internet access have led to many healthcare consultations to be delivered on an online platform. We are living in unprecedent times with the emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic, many people have social distance to reduce the spread of the disease. At Myphysio, your health is our top priority, all our staff are fully vaccinated. We are frequently washing and sanitizing our hands after each patient. We thoroughly clean the pillows and the physio bed after each consultation. We ask patients who are feeling unwell to reschedule or use telehealth for their appointment to provide the safest environment for our community. However, for people who are still unable to attend our clinic then we offer the Telehealth consultation.

What is Telehealth?

Telehealth is an online video consultation for anyone requiring physiotherapy but are unable to make it to a face-to-face consultation. Telehealth will run like your normal physio session where our highly experienced physios will take a detailed history of your presenting condition, provide a diagnosis and rehabilitation exercise. Telehealth consultation means that you won’t be able to get hands on treatment from us but we will still be able to teach you how to release your own muscles using your hands, massage ball or a foam roller. You will still be able to receive the full benefits of physiotherapy through our Telehealth service.

Telehealth Set Up:

It is important to set up your home space to get the most out of your Telehealth service. The most important step is to ensure that you have adequate room so that the physiotherapist can see your whole body. Remember to wear sports clothes to prevent movement restrictions. If you have a lower limb injury then it is recommended to wear shorts so the physiotherapy can see your knees and feet. After booking your telehealth consultation, you will receive a video link in an email to access the Telehealth service on the day. Please arrived to the online consultation 5-10 minutes earlier to ensure that you get a smooth experience.
